On December 18, 2017, the government of British Columbia decided to close grizzly bear hunting province-wide effective immediately.

December 18, 2017, will go down as a historic day in British Columbia as it is the day the grizzly bear hunt closure was announced. CLICK HERE for government press release.

The Commercial Bear Viewing Association, along with many others, worked tirelessly on all sides of the bear viewing argument. While the ethical reasons are huge, the economic impact that bear viewing has on British Columbia could not be denied any longer.

We are thrilled with the government's decision and look forward to working with them on building policy around bear viewing in British Columbia.
